Tickets for the Mayo Meitheal Award presentation night in the Burlington Hotel Dublin on this Friday night February 11th are available at the Headquarters of Mayo Mental Health Association at 2 New Antrim St., Castlebar.

Mayo Mental Health Association were named as Meitheal award winners 2011. The Association were commended for their work in breaking down the barriers and the stigma still attached to mental illness and for their work in the area of promoting positive mental health. It is a significant recognition of the work of this voluntary body whose new Information Centre in Castebar is open to the public.

P.J. Murphy chairman of the Association said it would be great to see strong Mayo support there on the night of the presentation.

“I know we are in a recession but this is a major award and a huge endorsement and recognition of our work and public support for us on the night would be very much appreciated.”
